What Breed are my chickens?

Willow shanks are on Ameraucanas, they may look like green, but all Amer's have willow shanks.

I said legs, not eggs.

Yes Ameraucanas can lay green but it is utmost preferred they do not.

Green legs though, Ameraucanas just flat out don't have.

All Ameraucanas have SLATE BLUE legs, read the Standard of Perfection and also the Ameraucana Breeders Club site. Willow legs, which have yellow soles, are a disqualification.

Ameraucana is a white-skinned breed, which flat rules out green legs. Green is derived from yellow skin. Yellow skin means impurity, which mandates Easter Egger standing. Every hatchery except Meyer sells their Easter Eggers as Ameraucanas, "Americaunas" or worse, Araucanas (McMurray is guilty of that one). People don't know better than to think hatcheries give the word of God, and they distribute this misinformation and mislabeled birds as a result.

As her avatar might suggest, Illia knows her colored egg layers, and is quite the respected member at that. She should be cited high above some self-service webpage.

Oh, okay. I should just stick with JG's, thinking about White ones...

I always face-palm when people spell it that way.. I'm in 4H, and I've done Avian Bowl before and one of the questions was to spell Ameraucana. I noticed "Spell Check" doesn't accept Ameraucana, they request Americana .. that's why people also get confused a lot.

Haha, I've straight had to turn off spell check with all the crazy things I type up these days that Microsoft doesn't know about!
