What Breed are my chickens?

Illia.... Are you starting problems again. LOL

Illia is absolutely correct (as if there was a question) Ameraucauna's have slate legs (period). If they are willow then it is almost always an EE, OE, or some other mix. There are 2 or 3 other pure breeds that have willow legs, but there are also only a handful of people that keep them.

Always obey Illia

True that on the Slate legs, BYC is helping me study for showmanship..

Great!! now just what color is willow?? :O)

As her avatar might suggest, Illia knows her colored egg layers, and is quite the respected member at that. She should be cited high above some self-service webpage.

AND they are fabulously beautiful.
BTW-- I think you can add words to your spell checker dictionary to 'educate; it. :0)

Willow means green or gray-green. Basically any color that has yellow soles, not white or pink, and legs that are green, gray, or gray-green but not a true slate blue. True slate blue like in real Ameraucanas is a good blue color, no green, with pink and white feet and soles, no yellow.

Thank YOU. this thread is very informative.

Okay, I'm not sure about the first three pictures. The fourth looks like a barred rock, the fifth looks like a barred rock or dominique. The sixth looks like it may be either an easter egger or an Americana/Americauna/Araucana. The last looks like a white leghorn or white wyandotte. That would be my best guess, correct me if I'm wrong.

It's an Easter Egger. Ameraucanas don't have green legs, don't have an I in the name, and Araucanas don't have tails or beards. Neither are easily bought with other chicks.
