What breed are these chicks?

Ok thanks for the replies I'm feeding them chick crumb I checked with the man I got them from he doesn't know the breed but said that they were broiler chicks and that they are actually 2 weeks old, here are more pics the bottom one has a coke can beside them for scale they seem quite big for 2 weeks old

much easier to see in the regular light, and the coke can helps for scale. I think they do look more like a meat chicken does, but Cornish usually have pretty thick legs-thicker than your pic, maybe some females that I’m seeing. These certainly have grown a lot though!

If you are not feeding them the growth hormones that production places feed, they should grow naturally, and get to live a normal life as a chicken
This is incorrect. I have a meat bird that I got at 1 day old. We have fed her nothing but what the other chicks eat. She is now about 18 weeks old. We also have some chickens that I hatched the week after we got her. The meat bird weighs about 14 lbs. The ones I hatched weigh about 6 lbs. We have not given any of them growth hormones.

Ok I'm not sure now whether to keep them or not now if they are the type have been genetically bred to die young I might give them back to the farmer, how long do these type of broilers usually live for and do you know how many eggs they would lay per week roughly

depends on the breed of chicken these actually are. Some are a cross with Cornish x and a more long lived/active breed, so they can get a meaty carcass at some point, but in a more active bird.

Some keep meat birds successfully, but restrict their feed intake. For example give them feed 2x per day for max 15 min each time (after 3-4 weeks of age). Others on BYC indicate that they accidentally got a meat bird with regular chicks (feed store chick days mistake) and the meat bird lives for much longer than expected and is fairly active. Yes, they will produce eggs, but I’d ask the farmer about that, along with any breed info/where sourced/if a cross, etc.
