What breed are these orphaned ducklings?

Orphaned ducklings were found running around somewhere with no sign of their mother. We supervised them for multiple hours with no mother in sight. Could anyone identify the breed?

What part of the world do you live in? I researched some wild ducks in North America and the closest one I found was Goldeneye duck. They look a little dark compared to your ducklings though.

They look like @The Phantom's Hooded Mergansers, but I bet @MGG will know.

Agreed, and definitely not mallard-looking either. I don't know a lot about wild ducks but maybe they're American wigeon ducklings or some kind of pintail? They're beautiful ducklings.

I did the same and came up with a few common ones you might see at a lake or pond. You probably came up with a better result than I did.
