Orphaned ducklings were found running around somewhere with no sign of their mother. We supervised them for multiple hours with no mother in sight. Could anyone identify the breed?

Have you put a call in to the division of wildlife?
What part of the world do you live in? I researched some wild ducks in North America and the closest one I found was Goldeneye duck. They look a little dark compared to your ducklings though.Yes I have. I am waiting for a response as many have not answered.

Agreed, and definitely not mallard-looking either. I don't know a lot about wild ducks but maybe they're American wigeon ducklings or some kind of pintail? They're beautiful ducklings.They look like a wild type. Not domesticated.

I did the same and came up with a few common ones you might see at a lake or pond. You probably came up with a better result than I did.What part of the world do you live in? In eastern canadaI live in North America. I have looked at goldeneye ducks but I am unsure if it is them. Just was wondering if anyone would know for sure
