What breed do you think Millie is?

Thanks for the welcome, mudhen. I'll be posting pics soon (I hope).

I was looking around, researching my new mama and her 9 babes, and found "Furnace Pit Game" hens. Wondered if these could be our girls. I'm on a mission with this one now!

Wow, that sounds interesting. Is that a hatchery or a breed (pardon my ignorance!)?
The search for finding out the breed of an unknown does get to be an intruiging quest, I'm really enjoying the education I'm getting along the way!!

If I knew how I would post a pic of my araucana and RIR together but have no idea how to do it

This has been haunting me. Your Millie looks so much like two of my girls. I checked the Privette chicken chart at the feed store today. My Lucy and Polly are smaller birds, they lay small eggs, one lays a white egg, the other a tan/off white. But, they are much heavier than it seems they should be. What I've been able to find by google-ing a few breeds from the chart, I think they may be American Game Bantams. My new mom, Marilyn, looks identical, except she's a platinum blond (thus the name). Maybe I'll post Lucy and Polly on the What Breed posts.

If you go to feathersite, look for American Game Bantams. Once you get through the text, the second photo down shows two pullets that could be twins to my girls as well as Millie. What's your opinion?

Hi chicken-mama , your girls sure do look a lot like Millie!
A friend of mine tells be she is sure Millie is some sort of bantam, especially now she says I should be able to see that since she is not much bigger than the 5 week old chicks she is raising!

I'm going to check feathersite for American Game Bantams and google for more pics. I keep coming back to the white earlobes though, and your girls don't have that, or perhaps I can't see very well in the picture.
Here is Millie with the 'peeps':

Hi, Mudhen

I had a third hen who looked identical to Lucy and Polly, except she had blonde earlobes. These two do not, you're right. Their combs are much larger, almost like a Leghorn, whereas Bridget's was smaller. I lost Bridget Thanksgiving weekend. I 'think' she had a respiratory issue. She was my baby.

I have to appologize for this pic. Didn't realize it was that blurry until now.

I, too, have 5 week old chicks. They grow SO quickly. Spunky little buggers they are, too!
