What breed have you found to be the quietest?

I have Golden Comets, 1 Buff Orp, and 3 EE's. The EE's are never quiet. The Buff Orp seems to be pretty quiet, but the GC's are so quiet, I never hear a peep out of them unless I catch one of them and then it's not much noise. I also have a couple of RIR's, more EE's and Black sex-link week-old chicks in the brooder. I'm not sure how they are going to be yet. I hope they are as quiet as the GC's and Buff Orp.

Which breed is the quietest in your experience?

gc's are probly the quitest if there young but if old like 12weeks than a little noise will come out

My RIRs are quite a talkative bunch, too, especially at bedtime.

I am not sure that "docile" and "quiet" always occur together.

Sugar, the lighter of our 2 Blue Cochin chicks, is SO LOUD! She is absolutely, by far, the loudest of our chicks. I'm not totally sure of her personality yet, but she is a cochin- and definitely more docile than my BR's- but I worry what the neighbors will think. Maybe her adult voice will be less loud than her chick peeps?

I have several breeds: SLW, Ameraucana, Lt Brahma, BA and NHR. My Ameraucana and my NHR are by far the quietest. My SLW is very quiet until she cannot see or hear me and then she sounds like a herd of parrots!

My buff orps and black australorp where very talkative when Young but now that they free range not much noise. The black australorp does his share of crowing. In the morning, noon and night he goes on for over15 minutes at a time. John
