What breed is my roo?

Personally I would just wait until I got a get a crow or an egg. I think it looks like a rooster but if it is a rooster it's not a red sex link. Where did you get him/her and what breed is it suppose to be?

Oh, we weren't going to get rid of him/her anyway. We THOUGHT we had 3 roos including him, and the other 2 were developing issues, so gave them away. We had thought he'd be our boy...oh, what do I think now??? And seriously, why can't it be as easy as turning it over and checkin' out it's privates

If you are talking about color, it actually just recently, over the last week or so, went that red, from a more pale color....

In a hen, that's a sign she's about to lay in a couple weeks. I'm going to say hen just for grins.

Red Sex Links or Star vary widely in color, ours was much lighter than yours. A rooster is white hence the ability to link the sex at hatch by color. You can see one of our Production Reds or hatchery stock RIRs in left of this photo. Our red star had the smallest comb of the flock but this is them right after they started laying last fall, all pullets.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that if you where to breed a Red Sexlink Hen to a Red Sexlink Rooster the chicks could come out any color. That the cockerels could have the coloring of a hen ( if that makes sense

I am thinking you have a boy on your hands.
