Love my Black Penedesencas! They are awesome birds. Might have a few hatching eggs to sell soon. One of our objectives is to get others involved in preserving this rare breed.

no black penedesenca roosters are black. maybe a partridge but I think the legs are the wrong color and I can not see the comb

That's right, Cooper. The rooster in my profile pic is a Black Penedesenca. The rooster in question on this thread is likely a Red Junglefowl or similar.

Thank you, Madi! He was a gift, but I didn't get to talk with the owner, as she had to move suddenly. So it's not determined what breed he is. Need to find that out to know what kind of hens to get him. One thing for sure... he is a real sweet and gentle fellow!
