We adopted this chick - according to the owner it is about a month old (?) from an elderly lady going into hospital. She has had it from a day old.
We have had chickens in the past and are planning to have them again in the future. I don't like the fact that it is on it's own so we are planning to provide him or her with a chicken friend as we do not want a lonely chicken!

But what breed or mix of breed is this chicken???

As an update - we recently discovered that our neighbours across the road sold a number of their bantam chickens to the people we adopted this chick from - I haven't seen them personally but my husband told me that they have a whole heap of them walking around free, some of them are white, others are brown.
Our neighbour has promised to try and catch one of them, they are semi friendly, so that our new family member has a companion.
So all I do know for sure is that our neighbour has no idea as to what breed they are as they were already on his property when he purchased the land - but he has a lot of interest in people who want them.

Here is another photo os "Snowy" - sorry but it is REALLY hot in the North Island of New Zealand and I a technically not supposed to be outdoors between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. - but I snuck outside quickly.... and found out it is NOT easy to take a photo of a little chicken who is constantly on the move!!
