I have a Rescue Duck hen that I believe is a White meat Duck/Buff cross and not a Pekin/Buff cross...She is small..

Jayzandra, Her body type and stance does resemble that of a Pekin. Possibly she is a "runt" or just due to genetics she is a small Pekin. The jumbo strain of Pekins makes even the "regular" ones look small.

Domestic breeds were created/selectively bred from mallards. If nature has her way and selective breeding isn't used, eventually they gravitate back to the original form. Just ask any exhibition breeder.

She is cute and I'm sure she has a personality.

Could even be a silver appleyard x saxony cross or a silver appleyard x buff cross. Whichever mixture of breeds she is, she is beautiful.

The lady only had white meat ducks/Pekins Buffs and Welsh. I was told Buff/pekin....she just is so small...she is a sweet Duck.

You could be right? It was the ladies first year of owning any Ducks...She had no pens...Just little shelters around a pond for them...A fox came and killed 10 in one night this spring...Only 5 survived....I rescued two the day she posted them....Poor Girl QUACKED loud for about four days..She was about 8 or 9 weeks when I got them...The one was a Drake so he went to my friends to live with 30 other Ducks....I do not care really what she is...She is pretty and loves life here...Always comes to me, chats me up with her head to the side, gives me that silly Duck look with love in her eyes...lol!

Aww I hope someone else rescued the other 3. Preds are awful but they are only doing what comes natural, It's up to us to protect our birds. I am happy for your lil one she found such a loving home.

Yes, my Ducks are my Buddies, my Kids....I sit with them everyday as they free range...They come and knock on the screen door if I come into the house for any reason....Silly Ducks....All I call is '' Come on Kids''....They come running or flying back to me...I am their Mom....Haha!!!!!
