What breed is this hen

all mine have learned to deal with that!!!
Fellow chicken squisher!!! :highfive::love Just don't squeeze too hard, otherwise you might get a little surprise....:lau
my chickens have become a neighborhood favorite!!! I am walking Tina (polish (profile pic) and Peanut (silkie) in the 4th of July parade!!! everyone is like "our chickens are so unfriendly!! I guess we just never get nice ones!" and I am like... I wouldn't be freindly with you if you butchered my sisters as soon as we turn 3!! and they never try to make the freindly either! I rescued Tina from my neighbors, she is 5 and is losing her productivity. but she is SO nice! they are like "I wonder why she is so freindly now???" and I am kida like "oh gee! I WONDER:eek:" (I do not say this stuff to them, but it is what I am thinking!)
Your girlies are on the road to stardom at this rate! :wee Tina's got quite the hairdo....probably makes most humans jealous. ;):love

Sounds as though you provide the flock with an enviable life many could only dream of!! :D
I hate it when ppl are like " I have owned chickens for 10 years! I know what I am doing!" and I am like I have owned chickens for 2 months but actually learned about them before I got them. you don't even realize that most of you flock has the worst case of scaly leg mites I have ever seen, but when I tell the they say " I have owned chickens for 10 years! I know what I am doing!" and am just thinking... wow... you can do something for 10 years and never learn anything??? LOL:lol:
Feel ya there....encountered the exact same thing. Either they haven't done their reading, or they aren't observant. ;)

LOL. I know what you mean. It's like the one old farmer who told me he owned chickens for 10+ years and said that Orpingotns get to be 20 Lbs. I am thinking, "the heaviest chicken was a jersey giant at 15 Lbs...";)
LOL!

Thanks! that is what I aim to do! there are plenty of not so lucky chickens and there needs to be a little compassion if you ask me! I can't wait till Jesus returns!!

Ah...someday! Make sure you handle those future birds a lot...wouldn't want something that big squirming in a judges hands ;). Have you considered Blue Orpington? (Lavender ain't accepted by the APA...unless you are doing a fun show)
I would love some, (silver laced are Awesome too) but they are SO expensive! I really hope to make it so Lavender is a reconised color by the APA.

Go for it, sis. You never know what the APA will do. Yeah, most other varieties of orpington are expensive . Around where I live, Lavender Orpingtons are in abundance and go for dirt cheap:clap! I used to breed them...but they were big eaters and had a low rate of laying :hmm
