I suppose it could be an Australorp, but I have 5 about that same size and their bellies are really white and they all have white tips on the ends of their primary feathers. It may end up being a surprise!!! but very very cute

Could be a Jersey Giant or Black Sex Link. Doesn't look like an Australorp to me either, I have 7 of them. Not to mention the fact that this little doll has a black comb.... So I'm leaning toward the BSL or even a Black Rose Comb Bantam.

Tough call, unless you know if it's LF or Bantam.... But I will say, if in fact it is a BSL, then it's a female.

I googled pictures of black sex link and jersey giant chicks, and I vote BSL also.

Australorp most likely, next likely Jersey Giant, after that a black variant of the Blue Andalusian.


Black combs mean nothing, it's just extra pigment.

That one is a Red Star. (AKA: Golden Sex Link, Red Sex Link, Golden Comet, Cinnamon Queen, Red Star, etc....)

Thanks , I bought four of them at a feed supply store, they was suppose to be glw and once they started getting feathers I knew something wasn't right, so I did some research, they didn't come close to looking like them as 1 day old chicks
