I've been told this is a polish frizzle.

I haven't had polish chicken before but at five weeks I would expect there to be head feathers emerging but as yet there are none!

Judging by the feathers however I'm sure there is some frizzle in there.

Another update!

The chick has got allot better I have seen it have hardly any fits it used to have one every 10-15 mins but now the last time I whitnesed it having one was at least three days ago! It is much stronger now and has turned into a bit of a bully! So at least it's finally finding its feet!

It's feathers have really settled out they are hardly ragged at all now there are some that are still kinda ragged but no where near as bad!!

Over all it is much healthier and I couldn't be happier :)

Pretty sure it's a girl but still no idea on the breed!

Hard to see in the pictures as the other chicks were always photobombing! It's head is massive :-/

That definitely does look like a Frizzle judging by adult Frizzle photos I searched up. I haven't gotten any of those personally but if they're like my White Crested Polish birds they might get their head feathers at about 6.5-7 weeks, maybe 8. Or it could be a breed that has a plain head?

Frizzles are frizzled from the beginning. Yours has normal feathers. Crested chickens have a puff of down where the crest will be. That's not there, either.

I don't know what it is but it is not a frizzled or crested chicken.

I've had allot of chicks over the years from multiple different breeds and I've never had a chick who's feathers look like this at five weeks :-/

Definitely not a Polish. No crest, wrong comb type and wrong leg color.

I shouldn't have said they look "normal" because you're right that they look tattered. But tattered isn't the same as frizzled. Frizzled feathers curl away from the body.

Honestly, I would look under the feathers for something resembling dirt. I suspect it's a feather-munching lice or mite -- something like that makes a bird look tattered in a hurry. Or, if the bird is sickly, it may not be preening itself :(
