What breed is this?

I traded one of my hens for a rooster but the lady had no idea what breed it was. And does this breed mate well to produce offspring i need to grow my flock

The coloring and the feathers on the feet suggest that a Black Copper Marans was in the mix but, to my eye the shape doesn't look quite like a Marans. Maybe a mix of Marans and a game type?
