What breed is this?

Better and worse birds happen from any source.

On the opposite end of the scale, my Ideal Black Langshan rooster was mistaken in photos for breeder quality -- not necessary show quality but good quality and type. :)

Some crossbeak issues are genetic and some are due to conditions during development and others are due to injury after hatching.
All but 3bof my Cornish are straight from Ideal and they are very nice looking. One has a few issues, but ones that can be mitigated.

Yeah... but a Dark Brahma with that poor of leg feathering is discouraging to say the least. However, I have no personal experience with Ideal and my exposure to their stock is pretty limited. I will spare them as harsh a judgement as I give Hoover's... for now. 🤭

Mine looks decent with leg feathering. But I don't pay a to of attention to her other than to make sure she's around

I’m not too worried about leg feathering as they’re just for my flock. I did want to breed the silkies but definitely won’t be using the cross beak. It wasn’t noticeable until around 4-5 weeks. He/she is cute though šŸ˜‚ hope they live a good long life with me. We named it Dino. Ideal isn’t bad. Out of 32 chicks all arrived alive and only 1 had something noticeably wrong with it, I believe it was a slipped tendon and sadly that chick did not make it but I tried taping the tendon back in place. RIP hobbles. Ideal was just the closest hatchery to me so I figured for shipping odds that would be the best to use. They had a deal on silkies for $1.85 when I ordered and that really was the least expensive you can find them so that’s just why I ordered from there. 😊

Hmm, I'm not seeing anything in their featherleg bantams that really matches this little one, unless she really is just a Dark Brahma with super poor leg feathering. Maybe an Easter-egger bantam that accidentally got thrown in? šŸ¤” @Rhodebar Lover any thoughts on the dark-colored baby in post 4?
With the pea comb, yellow legs, and silver pencilling, the only possible breed that matches would be a Dark Brahma Bantam IMO. I don't think I've ever seen a hatchery bird with that little leg feathering😳 My first reaction before seeing the pea comb was to say Silver Pencilled Rock Bantam but those are not carried by Ideal. Other thought would be Silver Pencilled Wyandotte Bantam but they'd have a different comb type, aren't carried by Ideal, and uncommon in the US :)

If you guys think that’s bad… look at this Silkie I also got from ideal 🄓
I’ve got a hen with cross beak, she dose great! Her name is Crooked Beak
