What breed of pigeon is this?

You can sell them for food but please don't sell them to dog trainers.

You can eat pigeon eggs just like any other egg. They are small and they only lay 2 per clutch, so probably not worth it. My dad has eaten their eggs before and said the whites turn kind of clear, which I imagine would look gross (then again, I think egg whites in general are gross looking when cooked, LOL).

Why pigeons? They are super fun! There aren't any other birds you can let out and watch fly without them flying away. It's very calming/relaxing to watch them fly. They can be just as loving as any other pet bird too. There are over 300 different breeds and many color combinations. There's a breed out there for everyone. I couldn't imagine what my life would be like if I had never gotten into the pigeon hobby. It's one of the best hobbies kids can get into.

It was a total accident . I had a banty hen that kept laying her egg in the pigeon loft, so I didn't think any thing of it till after the fact I realized it was smaller then her usual egg

Sorry if I offended you, but they way I see it if not not willing to have a dog flush and retrieve a pigeon why would a pheasant, quail, or duck be ant different. I know everybody doesn't hunt or understand why someone else would. I'm not a person who is going to sit here and tell you what I do is right and how you feel is wrong. What I will tell you is I've been a hunter all my life and have never been intentionally cruel to an animal that I have harvested. Nor have I ever seen anyone that I hunt with be cruel. training dogs is part of making sure we do what we do in the most humane way possible. Again I am sorry if I offended anyone.

I hunt too but not with dogs

As long as you train your dogs humanely, I have no problem with it. Flushing is fine, which homing pigeons would be ideal so they fly back to the loft. But the people who break the wings because they care nothing for the birds at all, are the ones who bother me. I am not saying all dog trainers are cruel to their birds, but some of them are. So that's why I avoid selling birds to anyone who will use my birds for that purpose.
