I got a couple of these boys a while ago. They are massive! I have no idea what breed they are, and the previous owner wasn't sure either.

We actually butchered one of them the other day, and the carcass, I promise was 7lbs cleaned! :eek:i was absolutely impressed with their size and meatiness. I should have snapped a pic. I saved the largest one to use for breeding if he can perform.
Anyways, all I know is that they are about 7 months old...

Any guesses? I'm thinking and leaning towards a production red. But I really don't know... I was also thinking Rhode Island or New Hampshire, but I know they are either lighter or darker. So.. Any ideas?

Thats just amazing. I didn't get a live weight, but once gutted, he was a good 7 lbs. I'd love to experiment with his type, this breed!
That sounds like fun. I'm experimenting with making crele Orpington's using wheaten.
I bet you'll end up making the next new meaty bird.

Oh don't tempt me! Lol  however I'd love to make a heavier, meatier EE... :gigmaybe one day. I'll just have to keep breeding and trying to keep better and more productive birds.
Good luck on your project though! Id love to learn more about breeding for certain patterns and colors like that.

Would you like to see my project Crele Orpingtons? I'm willing to share pictures.
