What Breed Of Snake Is This?

Maybe the snake should get shots to protect her?

Yep, shes def living down there...
I just went out and lifted up the one side of the bulkhead..(the others is usually open during the day to air out my basement..)..
So anyways.. i go to lift up the bulkhead and i see a small section of her... so i panic and drop the door(cause it was by my hand..)...think it landed on her... cause after i dropped the door she didnt move, and a part of her was still sticking out from under the door. So i hurry up and grab the door again to lift it off of her so she wouldnt be hurt. And she slid away in between the cellar steps...
So, shes probably living under the cellar steps.... joy.

We can take the steps out of the cellar though to get under there.. (hubbys just going to love this project..LOL..)

What do i do? I dont want to kill her.... but i cant have a snake nesting in my cellar either...
Although she will eat the mice/rats.... but what if she gets in my house?
Gah! And if i am able to even catch her... what do i do with her?? Bring her down to the river? (its at the end of my road)... *sigh*
If it was a garter i wouldnt be so worried, but they say those water snakes can be agressive and give a good bite...

eh.. their bite isn't that bad...

get a pillow case (no holes it it) to use as a snake transport bag.. once you get a hold of her (try to grab her right behind the head but don't let go when she musks you) place her in the pillow case and tie a knot in the end.. then take her someplace safe near water and release her.. easy stuff
