I would get Orpingtons or Easter eggers

I like salmon favorolles and Rhode island reds too and wyandottes they are beautiful!

If you want a friendly breed I wouldn't get a Wyandotte. They are pretty skittish and flighty in my experience. Buff Orps are like a dream. Complete opposite.

My buff Brahma bantams are delightful!! So sweet, always jumping on my laps for cuddles! My speckled Sussex is a little flighty, but she's sweet and will sit on my lap sometimes if I let her approach me. My Easter Egger is friendly but doesn't like being handled. I have two Wyandottes, one doesn't like to be handled at all and one loves being cuddled but is a huge jerk to the other chickens. And my Barred Rock is sweet and has such a huge personality but only will come up to me sometimes.

My Polish is an excellent layer of medium sized eggs. I get at least 5 eggs a week from her. AND she never goes broody. Maybe she is an exception.
Orpingtons are generally love bugs, and come in a variety of colors these days.
