My RIR’s were sexed at the hatchery and that chick sure does look like a RIR to me!

Those look more like Sussex legs.....rir should be obviously yellow. Pretty much all "red" birds will feather like yours at this stage....which is when comb type, leg color, etc come onto play to sort them out

would their legs become more yellow as they age and reach POL? I noticed that with some of my other layers (Red Rocks and ISA) their legs became very yellow as they matured.

Hi. So they are coming close to point of lay now. So I thought I would post some updated pics. Most of them are starting to flush res in their faces and have yellow legs. Some have slight black streaks through their tail feathers.

So wdyt now? Red Sussex or RIR?
