What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

will be working on the Wheaten and Silver Wheaten silkies next spring. Good thing about this is they will be a silkie that can be color sexed at a young age.
I have two females currently and was told by the genetic experts to mate the father back to them.
They are pure silkie, no outcross to another breed. Mother and Father were black. I had one lady who got eggs from me and also hatched a Wheaten out, also a female.

Hi All

This weekend I will be getting two Madagascar Game hens. I dont think I have ever seen a Black La Fleche x Madagascar Game or anything close to that cross

. These two hens will be in their own pen with one of my extra Black La Fleche males. I should get some very unusual looking chicks.

Hi,
Nice birds..
I have considered Hamburgs for the same reasons. MPC has/had Blue Hamburgs, which is supposedly the largest of the Hamburg breed.

Me, being a blue fan was very tempted.. (Some day.) For know I am happy with my lines of Blue Ameraucana and Marans.. Some day though I would love to have some hamburgs..

What breed would you be using to introduce the chocolate, and are you talking about recessive sex-link chocolate or dun chocolate? I've been contemplating the same thing, but cant figure out the best way to get the recessive sex-link chocolate in there or even where to get a bird with that gene to be able to introduce it!

Yes, I realize it will take me around 8 years or so... Maybe a few more, actually, but I would LOVE IT!

I will look into these chocolate Orps...

Plan on building a coop for these and hatching their eggs next Feb/March....Look to have some very colorful Red/ Brown and Auburn chicks...

The rest are all SLW, BR and Black Sex-link so planning on two coops and two different types of hatches.

Organics North, what does MPC stand for? I will have to look into the Blue Hamburgs. My favorite color is blue, and the larger size appeals to me.
