What breeding projects are you working on or you want to work on.

I am working on 3 different Marans color projects. Taking up 3 of my new breeding pens lol.

I've been kicking around the idea of a large combed hen that will do really great in our hellaciously hot summer - but lays a nice sized brown egg. Specifically, darkish brown egg.

So far the chickens that have proved themselves best are the Mediterranean breeds - catalanas, leghorns, mincoras. But they all lay white eggs. My rocks do all right in the heat, as well as my wellsummers, but they still suffer when it gets 100+ for weeks on end.

Hmmm... just a thought.

these are my sex-link chickens they lay white medium sized eggs and i have hatched babies that the males are a silvery color and the females are black in color. The male chicks also are born with 5 toes on their left foot and the females do not have 5 toes. Hopefully i can keep perfecting the breed.

Im working on Blue Spangled Old English Bantams...not exactly a new color but pretty dang rare...

Currently a Buff and Red Pyle (sp?) I lost my white pair over the past year, thinking about replacing them. I love the old English.

buff are pretty, I had considered trying to find some white tailed buffs, just not sure I want to go there yet....
