What breeds do you wish you had?

Next year I'm going get barred rocks!

I've had barred rocks, white rocks and partridge rocks. If I ever got rocks again, I'd go for silver penciled and blue rocks. Good eye candy. Unlikely though since Plymouth Rocks were the only breed of roosters that have attacked me.

A friend of mine has therapy chickens, silkies and seramas.
Once during a dog attack, an opportunistic hawk picked up a Wyandotte and as it was flying over the neighboring retirement home, it dropped the pullet into the courtyard. It was unharmed and the residents appreciated the visit. I told them I would bring birds back for visits which the staff agreed to. However all my birds are wild now so that won't work.

I'm sure it was taking it to eat it.
But for a long time I used to joke that I love hawks because they save my chickens from dogs.

Your girls are beautiful!!!! and I love what I can see of your coop -I never did see the finished product- Yep, pretty sure I need one of those lavender beauties. What breed is that big butterball blocking the nest box? Put her on my wish list too!! She is pretty fabulous This tread is making me susceptible to chicken math.

I wish I got silkies! Since they're mostly sold as straight run, I don't want to end up with more roosters than I already have.

I got 2 to be broodies.They are both cockerels.

Bought 8 at tsc last year, 2 died within days. Had 2 pullets & 6 cocks. Only 1 cock was decent for breeding.

Wouldn't matter if silkies were a real broody breed.
