what chicken... What egg? w/pics!!

So my polish just started laying eggs and my dad doesn't believe that it is actually the polish. i've heard about using food dye.. But how?

You can put a little food coloring around the vent area- when the chicken lays an egg, a little color will rub off onto the egg....
 
No, food coloring won't hurt them, but don't use red. Chickens are attracted to red.

It may be easier to tell though depending on the breeds you have. Do you have any other breeds that lay white eggs?

Also, Polish lay a very pointed white egg. Most other breeds have a more rounded white egg.
 
I have an EE that hasn't started thats older than the polish that my dad is convienced is laying the white eggs. The other 2 are brown layers.

poor guy, he put up with alot but apparently putting food dye on a chickens hiney is a line he isnt willing to cross...i thought it was genius
