What chickens : colors make blue laced red wyndottes.

Anytime I hear of an outcross, it bothers me.
Even within Breeds?

Also the Blue Laced Gold seem to be a thing in Australia

I know that blue doesn't breed true but thats to be expected.
I think about everyone breeding a blue variety knows that.
But the OP asked about BLRs so thats what I was answering.
IDK what the OP wants but to some "reddish" instead of red might not be better then none.
I meant they aren't true red and won't breed true red. For someone that doesn't know a lot about genetics that might be a headache that they would want to avoid by finding more BLR instead.

What if u used a Blue male and a BLR female?
Wouldn’t that bring out more of the desired blue/red combo ?

(please don’t make fun of me is that is a dumb question, I’m still learning how all this works, and I happen to have a Blue Wyandotte Roo, so this topic interests me).

Breeding to the silver laced would be the best option. Silver can be easily bred out in a couple generations and won’t affect the red coloration.

How is breeding to SLW better than yo GLW? The SLW may carry unwanted red diluters/inhibitors, ay Best the F1 pullets Will look identical ti the BLR x GLR F1, but the males Will be way off

I personally wouldn't breed to the silver.
You'll still have the same issue with the red whether bred to the gold or the silver. Breeding to the silver will bring in the silver gene which would need bred out. Breeding to the gold at least has gold which the red also needs.
Its best to stay as close as possible to the color youre wanting so you don't have to breed out genes.
