take it from her. Lol.yeah - I have the alabaster egg. but Millie is dominating that.
Well Millie has let Josie up into the house. All if quiet for the moment. Josie has the fake egg. Millie is sitting quietly. Is it common for hens to have so much trouble with the subsequent eggs? I feel like a midwife! LOLyeah - I have the alabaster egg. but Millie is dominating that.
offer them free choice oyster shell. My rir just laid her first egg 3 days ago... Small & fragile but otherwise perfect... I gave the flock some extra crushed eggshells for calcium since they are still on grower feed... But my question is when should I expect my next egg? Yesterday I saw her in the nesting box for about. 3 hours but no egg? Any thoughts? Just wanna be sure that this is normal... I was under the impression she would start laying regularly now...every day to every other day...
Thank in advance!
the egg shells may not be enough. Free choice crushed oyster shell will allow them to choose how much they need. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for them to get everything worked out, but they need the proper nutrients in order to make their eggsIs the egg she'll not enough? And should she be laying more regularly now? I hate to worry about her...
