This is J.T. a Buff Orpington Pullet that Jimmy was hatched with, and Jimmy is behind her. J.T. is a pretty small buff orpington pullet she isn't a huge buff orpington hen.
I'm not even close to be an expert , and there is not much in the pics to give us perspective as to size . That being said , to me she [ looks like a pullet to me ] appears to be the diluted black commonly called blue , on the smaller end of the range for large fowl , may have some Ameraucana blood , probably has some Orpington blood , and since she came from a bantam egg obviously came from bantam blood . I like her body type and those thick leg shanks so similar to J.T.'s ; they're sturdy looking little hens .
Are you sure the egg she hatched from was a bantam egg. Maybe it was a pullet egg from a standard hen. The first eggs they lay are small like bantam eggs.
Yes, I'm sure she hatched from a bantam egg. Well I guess she MIGHT be a standard hen, I can try and put her somewhere were there is a light and maybe I can get her to lay some eggs so we can see if shes a B or a S! Oh, Julia! I like it! Any more names? Oh, thanks I just love J.T. to death! She will try and flog ya but other then that shes a fine young pullet I wonna try and put her with my pretty Buff Orpington roo " Prince", and see if I can get some chicks from her! I'll try'n get another pic of Julia up here some time!
She has feathered legs and it looks like her feet have yellow on the bottoms - This means she is an easter egger and not a pure ameraucana. Ameraucanas have clean legs and white on the bottoms of their feet, not yellow. I'm curious - what color egg did she hatch from?
she will lay when it warms deffinately.. unless she's a he,,!!! but looks like a she to me! my amerucana mates with a rir and we get bright pink eggs....too funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
