I think he's calico! I have a hard time linking things with my lousy satellite internet, but you can Google calico Silkie roosters. Some are darker, but many have those red wings/shoulders.

Splash can have buff coloring like he does over the wings? Or could that be because he came from a mixed flock and has who knows what other colors are in there.
Yes, this is likely being from a mixed color pen. Agree he could be calico which usually a splash with red leakage. Regardless, he is a beautiful boy.I think he's calico! Porcelain, or Blue Cream, in silkies are usually lavender and buff even though they’re called “blue”Could he possibly be a porcelain???
found the old post on him from when he was a chick. I had said someone called him a blue partridge but when I went back and looked it said lavender partridge. Is he too "white" to be lavender?Porcelain, or Blue Cream, in silkies are usually lavender and buff even though they’re called “blue”![]()
From what I can tell in the photos, his base color looks more splash to me.Splash is part of blue/ black/splash genetics so that if he looked blue partridge as a chick that would make sense. Lavender( self blue) is different genetically. Many chicks have the chipmunk pattern typical for partridge and can be quite difficult to tell what they will look like as an adult. Especially if they are mixed colors.I

Ok, I can definitely agree that I think he looks splash. Those light buff markings over his wings were just throwing me. I looked up Calico but they were all quite a bit darker. I know shades can vary a lot though. I love the mixed colors but it sure can make it tricky trying to figure out what you have and what you should breed to.From what I can tell in the photos, his base color looks more splash to me.Splash is part of blue/ black/splash genetics so that if he looked blue partridge as a chick that would make sense. Splash with Autosomal Red it looks like.Ok, last post/question of the day. What color would you call this boy? Does he have a recognized color or is he just a mishmash? When he had his chick fuzz it was guessed he was a silver partridge. Is that correct?
