What color is this D'Uccle??

No....not yet. She is not laying yet..... and right now they are all mixed together. I am debating whether to breed her with my roo or leave her in a pen with the Silkie roo that she is bonded with when I build pens in the spring.

I think I have three pure d'uccles. The two darker ones look like their parents, the third *big* chick is lighter and more striped but I also think it's a pure d'uccle. The smallest chick there that is "butter" yellow is a serama X d'uccle. My choice of dads for my chicks are mille d'uccle, porcelain d'uccle and golden lakenvelder. I have a 5th chick that is mille X blue frizzled cochin that hatched Saturday that is gorgeous...

Millie X Blue frizzled Cochin-I may have to try that. I'm going to pick up some bantam Cochins on Wednesday that I am so excited about. That sounds like it could be interesting. Could you post some pics of that one if you get a chance?? I'd love to see it.

These are all of the D'Uccles that hatched this weekend. One is the dark color of a Millie chick, and all the others are lighter.

Here is my blue frizzle cochin X mille. S/he has eyeliner and hiroglyphics on her head so we think we are going to name her Pharoah:

Here is a picture of all 5 that hatched between Thursday and Saturday:

I have had many different colors of d'uccles and I have to say , it's a mix. Even the darker millie is very light for what most chick millies usually look like. Mine were always near chocolate with a few markings.
Keep us posted, I'd like to see what it colors up like!
