What color is this Muscovy duckling?

I am hoping to breed mine next year. It is definitely going to be hard to figure out how many I want to hatch. I will likely just end up butchering most of my extra drakes.

The fate of the males... It's too bad we can't just neuter them. When I rescued a rooster, even though he was only around 8-10 weeks old, the vet didn't even want to consider caponizing him.

We need implants like those to stop the females from laying. Or something.

Yeah, that’s what I may end up having to do with mine if I can’t find homes for them.

My boy at 4 months old, will be 5 months next month. He’s starting to lose his Barr pattern…

I’m impressed with how these Muscovies are growing, all the boys are already as big or bigger then their dad. It took two years to get their dad big (he’s about 10lbs) and these young boys are only 4 months old

Awww. Yeah, Jewel is really losing hers now too, she's about the same age. He is still such a lovely boy, though.

My boys are also getting quite big, especially the ducknagers, as WannabeHillbilly like to call them! I think they're three months, now? And HUGE! The males anyhow. The females are small and dainty. :)
