What color is this Orpington Roo?

I think they are all good looking boys. I'm a big fan of Orpingtons, especially the big English type, so I wouldn't butcher any of them. You are lucky to have such nice looking boys. I have a pair of chocolate from this year, they are giants compared to their hatchery clutch mates.

Oh dear. I'm not sure I'll be able to convince my husband that I want to keep all of them! I should probably rehome (or process ) one of the Silver Laced boys since I really don't need two nearly identical ones ...

I love the English type Orpingtons too!!!! It will also be interesting to see what the chicks they father on my layers might turn out like. I've currently got Golden Comets (or GC mixes) and Barred Rocks girls, plus adolescents: Olive Eggers, Bresse, and Golden Comet-Austrolorp crosses. (Which by the way, appear to be sex-linked. Males are dark brown/black with some red splashes and females are light cream with red-brown splashes. All are very scrappy! So the hens should be good foragers then. The males of that crossing will go to the freezer.) I might be getting some more hens next month too, but I'm not sure of the breeds. And of course, I plan on getting Orpington hatching eggs if any of my hens go broody and/or Orpington chicks this spring.

Temper seems fine. Docile, calms right down after being caught, etc. (Mean roosters get their occupancy permit changed to a one-way trip to freezer camp.) As far as physically, I'll go over him more carefully maybe tonight - it seems less stressful for them if I wait until they are roosting and don't have to chase them.

No sorry. I was looking at the wrong photo I realize now. The mystery color bird is definitely Orpington. You can see it in his butt..lol all those pretty fluffy feathers. And white legs and single comb.
