I don't have a picture of the actual bird , this is it's mom. only difference is the son has more silver hackles.
base is black, head, tail. chest is sprinkled with silver. I'm entering it as AOV but I need to know what I want to call it or make up a name to call it.

this is another bird I owned, similiar in that has the silver in the hackles (but baby has not red in shoulders), still same black head. the pictured bird I showed as a calico, new bird is not 3 colored.
so I need to know either what is the color called or what should I call it.

Quote:gray is a showable color is in silkies already but reading the standard, this bird does not fit. And maybe it is gray but a poor example of the color- but I don't think so. the silver in the hackle is missing from the standard, so maybe silver as a new working name.

Without seeing it, I'm guessing but could it be cuckoo? Is the silver like a barring?

Looks like a result of a black and a lavender breeding. Which it would be split to lavender. Pretty much it would be a Black with leakage.
