The person we bought the egg from said its a Emerald pied something, I just want to know if thats what it is.

I'm not seeing any pied markings in that picture, Pieds are born with extremely obvious and well defined patches of whites all over them.

Could be the egg came from a pen containing something like pieds or some sort of arrangement like a pied peacock with split(or not) hens.

"Emerald" was a term used to describe Spaldings(mixes of Indian and Green peafowls) higher than 3/4 Green blood. That chick kind of looks light colored.. but then my own "high blood" chicks tend to be dark or very dark colored. (The use of the term Emerald is now discouraged by United Peafowl Association, and since then it has been showing up far less often)

Yes not a pied, but could be split pied. Spaulding chick range from light to darker chicks.
Check and see what kind of breeders were in the pen. that may help.

Kat is right :-D India Blue, could be Spalding with not too much green as a Spalding is any amount of green blood in an otherwise Blue or other base color. Does not look like an Emerald Spalding but this term is often mis-used whether intentionally or unknowingly.
