You can use any color of silkie if your only goal is mottling and silkied feathers. Though I wouldn’t use white, as that’s recessive too, and might completely cover up the mottling in successive generations.Okay, we'll see what happens. I'm afraid I'd end up with a black rooster, would that mess things up? I'd like a mottled chicken with the silkie feathering.
