thank you both! I’m trying to get a grasp on colors. So if he was bred to a black hen, would his chicks be blue? Or does that red leakage effect the splash?
He is my only rooster, I have a few black australorps, Rhode Island reds, and a few hens I’m not to sure what they are. I did a backyard mix that hatched almost 2 weeks ago. One I’m thinking might be blue?

Yes, bred to black he would produce blue. The red leakage could show up in the offspring, but it won’t make his offspring not blue. The mix probably is blue. Do you have a picture?
