He's really pretty though! He'll make some stunning babies.Quite possibly! Luckily he's been lovely to our girls so he can stay (though if our broody Ancona hen does a hatch we won't expect purebred).

Thanks! We have 2 black Ancona hens and a chocolate Ancona hen, so whatever little mutt ducklings we get should be a fun assortment.Having blue and brown (chocolate) is lavender, I am pretty sure. He is pretty whatever he is. He has to be heterozygous to be blue, so he can have blue or non-blue ducklings if your girls aren’t blue. He has to have two sex-linked brown to be chocolate. So, if your girls are not brown, your ducklings will be sex-linked. Girls will be brown or lavender , boys black or blue.
That’s a Blue SwedishHey all!
I recently got an Ancona drake to add to my flock of ladies. He was advertised as lavender, but I'm wondering if he's more of a blue? I have a hard time differentiating sometimes though. He has a very dark charcoal head, and then a steely grey body with chocolate feathers mixed in.
EDIT: looks like we got swindled with a blue Swedish. At least he's a sweetheart and our hens love him!
