I rescued a new hen (?), and can't identify her breed or predominant breed mix. What is she, and what type of comb does she have? Rose, pea, cushion, strawberry, etc.

    Thanks!

That is a Golden Laced Wyandotte, and it is a cockerel. His comb is considered rose.

Oh! Thank you for the info. How are you able to tell he's a cockerel? I had my suspicions, but don't know what I'm looking at.

Hackle and wing bow feathers, comb and wattle size, length and lankiness of the legs/body.

Thank you! You've been very helpful.

I'm bummed he is a he, as I don't have enough hens to satisfy 2 roosters. But, I am grateful for the info you shared. Learned something new today.
