Looks like a mix to me.
maybe a buff orpington or new Hampshire red mixed with some breed with a pea comb.

Maybe a New Hampshire X Easter Egger? But those legs are deceiving... And the beard... And the comb... Maybe an Ameruacana X New Hampshire X Orpington? Sorry if not much help. Great job rescuing him!!

I would say that he is a buff Wyandotte because of the rose comb, although wyandottes are supposed to have yellow legs. His legs look pail pink in the photos. He may be part Orpington, which would explain his leg color. He is a beautiful roo!

At first I thought It was rose.... then pea... then...

I'm pretty sure he has a small single comb. I am quite stumped. He might be older.

It looks like a wyandotte's rose comb to me. It could be a pea come but I can't tell in the photos. I don't see any rows.
