What did you all do about your dissaproving DH?

A $2.00 item you should be able to buy without asking. But a living creature, an animal that needs ongoing care and feed etc should be decided together, no matter the price.

I have actually been married -twice - lived with someone - twice - and it's always the same thing- they want to control me and I am not having it.

I have my own house and I would never have a roommate, but if I took on a boarder - possible in this economy - I sure would not let them tell me how to live my life in my own home.

too funny, Rillion... but what's interesting is that I can live peacefully with my husband, but could never stand having a roommate.

Hikerchick: you're doing what works for you in full understanding of who you are, and that's awesome. I'm truly sorry that your going through what you are going through. I am truly blessed to have the husband that I do. If I say I want, I get it. He even sold some of his stuff to buy all of the material to build my coop/run and to buy my flock of Black Australorps. He only had one day to build the coop before I had to pick up my chickens, and he ended up having a heat stroke in the process, and still never once complained.

I would say if your DH likes to collect baseball cards, then it should be okay for you to have chickens. I think he needs to understand that a marriage is not 50/50. It is 100/100.
