You aren't letting him sleep with her are you? LOL!!! She would make a nice pillow. LOL!!!

Do you know how hard it was the fend off all the buyers that wanted this girl? LOL... My sale cages were right next to Jen's so I was the one that kept saying....nope, not for sale! Persistence pays off!

Yes I know lol!!! I asked about her and she said nope not for sale lol. She just got a bath so WOW she caught my eye! Beautiful!

I had a light burgundy shirt on with a hooded zip up coat that was white....until I took that one off. I was big fat pregnant and had my 15 yr old daughter with me. Everybody kept bumping into my belly lol.

Came home with a Barnevelder Rooster and 2 splash silkie chicks from Anh of Dylan's Silkies. Oh and bought some training cages for the next show and lots of supplies...

The ON next year is not going to be held. The APA and ABA meet is in Indianapolis instead of the ON next year

They still have the Ohio show. It's November 12th & 13th in 2011. It will still be big, but like Shelly said, the both the APA & ABA national meets will be at Crossroads--so that will be the really big show next year.

I came home with some Call ducks. Early Saturday I put several raffle tickets in for a pair of blue fawn pied Calls. Then I bought a sweet little pair of butterscotch Calls out of the sale area, even though I was not supposed to be buying or bringing home anything. I figured I was safe with just two little ducks, right? And I figured I wouldn't win the raffle. Then that afternoon I won the other Calls! Woops.

They are beautiful. I don't know how anyone can resist Calls, gosh they are the cutest things ever!

Well I think I am starting to recover. Wow what a show, love love love, the Ohio National. Want to take a moment to thank all those who bought birds from us. I hope that you are as happy with your purchases as I was to meet everyone. I love meeting new "poultry people" and talking birds with them. I was very good and only brought home a few birds. hubby bought a pair of Modern Games for Brody, Brody won a Serama in the raffle, Hubby picked up a pair of Wyandottes that he ordered, I got a new White Silkie cock that I had ordered. I was given the cutest Serama Cock on coopout, so we left with less birds than we brought, which made Hubby Very happy!

I did get a pair of Bantam Orpingtons for a friend, so all was good. The best part was coming home to the Ham that my mother had cooked for us on sunday. It's amazing how hungry you get just sitting in the truck on that LONG drive home. One more show next weekend and the birds & I get a rest for the year! I just want to SLEEP!!!!!!!

Well that's good to know, I was under the impression that there wasn't going to be a show at all in Ohio next year. It's still too far to drive, but Indianapolis is MUCH more doable

The OHIO NATIONAL is America's largest annual poultry show and has been held every year for the past 55 years. The Crossroads show has been held only once. That single show was the second largest poultry show held in the US. All the other of the 20 largest shows ever held in America have been The OHIO NATIONAL.
The organizers of the Crossroads show have said that they expect an entry of about 7,000 birds. The 2010 OHIO NATIONAL hosted an entry of 6,912 birds this year plus the thosands of birds in the hall offered for sale.
Crossroads will be a three day show. Things will start happening at noon on Thursday and end about noon on Sunday.

We went and had a great time. In the BYC pic I'm in brown on the end on the right side. Between me and my daughter, we almost ended up with more than we could carry home. We were picking up some show crates for someone else, and ended up with stuff tied on top of the trailer. Here's what I brought home.

Are chicken stories like telling fish stories? 'Cause the rumor on the show floor was that Crossroads might be something like 12,000 birds.

It is good to know what the actual organizers of the show are expecting. Keeps us from getting too fantastical with our expectations.
