What did you do in the garden today?

I know.

I couldn't remember WHERE in western ohio you were. My old house in dayton was sandwiched a .25 mile between two tornado. She had lovely 250 year old oak trees in the back yard when we moved away. I cannot imagine they appreciated the winds.

another stormy night on duty. another almost 2 inches of rain for us. That puts us at over 11 for the month and more coming today and tonight.

We are north of Dayton, so we did not get the tornados. And we are not in Celina, where they also had a tornado. We woke up to the news of the tornados and counted ourselves lucky!

Wow 250 year old oak trees! They must have been beautiful and lucky to not have been in the tornado when you lived there! Seeing pics today of the damage, and there are certainly quite a few very large trees that were damaged or destroyed by the tornados.

You have gotten so much rain! We are quite high on the rain amounts for the last 9 months, and for May, in particular. The storm a few days ago dumped about 3+ inches in a short time on us, but not very far away, there was a recorded amount around 6+ inches in a short overnight timeframe - houses were surrounded by water in places never expected! Our raised beds sit in a low spot, so some beds have standing water at their base until it gain drain away or absorb into the ground!

Good to know you are safe. Take care.

My transplanted bush is doing well.
The flowers I planted in it’s old hole have their first bloom (zoom in and squint)
The Bottlebrush has blooms...Bee’s love them.
It’s raining right now. It’s predicted that we’ll have sun in two days...I’m ready.

Good morning @cavemanrich. Have you considered installing a swimming pool?
For a long time. I wanted (and still do) a Garden pond. Something in this fashion.

I will put into ground only halfway and the other half would be above surface. surrounded by decorative stones like for a retaining wall.
If I installed it level with ground,,,,, my fishies:love would have escaped:hit

Good morning gardeners. Hi @cavemanrich, I hope you get the pond installed. Then you can add ducks. I didn't do much in the garden yesterday. I did a little cultivating in the vegetable beds. I planted butternut squash seeds and swiss chard. Then everything got a dose of some organic fertilizer before the rain started. There's another leaf bud on my fig tree so I'm more than happy about that. Have a great day gardeners.
