What did you do in the garden today?

My puppy dug up four of my potato plants! :barnie She didn't destroy them all, and they had tiny little potatoes hanging on the roots. Think I could replant them?

Have to agree replant them

Okay all this talk about spiders is giving me the hebbie-geebie’s. While watering tonight I saw something ... scamper up and away big enough to catch the corner of my eye. :rant

Good New’s saw the female blue lizard in the asparagus. I thought the rat might of killed them.

Good morning gardeners. Enough of the spider talk. I got bit on my arm and neck this morning. I'll be eating a lot of Benedryl today. It's going to be a hot day today. I picked a nice amount of peas this morning. The broccoli was definitely showing early bolting signs so I picked it. There are still some side shoots that are growing, so perhaps I'll get a bit more. The bell pepper plants are really growing slow, but the jalapeno and poblano plants out in the front yard are doing well. The jalapeno has a lot of buds on it now. The tomato plants are starting to develop blossoms and the plants are big enough to let them develop. I need to pick some mint for tonight's dinner of tabbouleh salad. Too hot to cook. Have a great day everyone.

spiders - ick, but if they are outside, at least that is where they are supposed to be. Dry areas seem to have more, but maybe just less cover for them to hide under. Visiting relatives in E WA (high dry desert), and was on the deck while BIL was taking down the little tent he had slept in (placed on top of a tarp) further away, near some trees. I'm fairly far away and on a 2nd story deck. He picks up and shakes out the tent to get rid of debris. All of a sudden, a ginormous spider falls out and scurries across the tarp. BIL jumps back and all of us on the deck pull in a collective gasp - it was so large that even the older (more vision challenged) were able to see that spider from that far away!!! BIL stood there for a few moments scanning the ground and more cautiously looking in the tent. We all start to laugh bc we all wondered if he had had a sleeping buddy all night in the form of an 8-legged creature. Ick!
