What did you do in the garden today?

Staring out the window at the frozen tundra that will be my garden . Checked my tree and berry seeds that are in the fridge stratifying . Seaberry and Goji are sprouting . Time to pot them .

Mine's frozen today as well. Sigh. But my lettuce and broccoli is growing well in the green house.

Progress! I finished the frame work for the picket fence around the AP tanks. Got both frames for the raised beds built and sitting about where they are going to be installed. Built a pallet herb garden and a pallet strawberry bed that I mounted to the outer edge of our back deck. Herbs and berries got planted so they are enjoying the rain we're getting. If I can have an hour each day this week after work to I'll have the raised beds completed and mounted in their final settings. The plumbing will take some thought and time but I think I can muddle through it.

I got my first pump mounted and fired up, works great. The second tank however tossed a monkey wrench into the works as it decided to leak. *sigh*

So we've decided to go with a single tank design and a constant flow with bell siphons instead of a 15 minute on 45 minute ebb and flow with dual pumps. The single pump will still run 24-7 but that was going to happen with the water fall anyway. So this week I pull the leaky tank out and set it aside to become an 8x10 raised bed and I re-fence the original perimeter so that we can put cantaloupe and possibly watermelons in the sand with a trellis along the back 12 feet for a blackberry bush.
