What a GREAT WAY to REPURPOSECurrently working on fish tank greenhouses for seed starting. Got 2 dozen okra plants, 200+ hotpepper plants, 6 cucumber, 4 dozen tomato plants, and much much more! (Gotta finish cleaning the left two fish tanks. Working great so far!)
My cousin in Rome is in quarantine. Ack! She said she can't go out, work, etc. I also received note of one of our work conferences switching to a webinar. Yee Haw!MUST get the peonies in the soil today.
Time change is making it impossible for me to sleep. I cannot go to bed early, and that's what this is. So I lay awake until 2 or 3 and then the alarm goes off at 6. This morning I was up at 5 with DHs alarm. The moon blazing away isn't helping either. So I got up, noticed he left the grill on all night.Well at least it will be charred clean. We have zero visibility freezing fog. I can't even seen the windmill this morning.
I ate breakfast, and was just about ready to sink into sleep, when the great horned owl started hooting away above my bed. Country problems, right?!
The moon is, obviously, above the fog, but being full is reflecting so much light, it's as if your're in a really bright room, filled with milk. Ya. Like you're IN the milk jug and someone just opened the refrigerator door.
SOOOOO sleepy.
Spending the day making garden aprons, and then heading out to teach a class.
Will put sausage tortellini soup in crock for DH.
Still no word if they are going to switch the university to digital and send the kids home or have them stay there and go digital. If they come home to I get reimbursed for room and board? Hmmmmmm....... 130 people here in self-quarantine out of an abundance of caution.
Oh well. Just another challenge from mother nature. Onwards.....
Have a great day all.
I am in the same boat! Cold weather greens, asparagus, rosemary, daffodils, cherry blossom trees blossoming, herbs, some holly hocks...and that's about it!Things are still wet here I have a few lettuce, mustard and arugula in the one garage
I love this! I miss HI so much and remember all the wild chickens and kitties roaming about. Wonderful pics!!Aloha gardeners!
After a few good days playing and riding the horses it's time to think about getting back to the other work of completing the deck project. I can't start sanding the deck till I have Polyurethane in my hot little... big hands. (yes, I have man hands...) Right? So, Biscuit and I head to town... do a feed/food run that was put off by AJ's fall last week.View attachment 2049117
The cute Hawaiian boys that adopted me and my hubby during their bored time and want the wild chickens we catch said they had a coop but actually... they do not, surprise lol. A fact after catching the young roo and hen... ok. So i'll add a few untreated 2x4's to my list... with our random material @ home we can build them a starter coop. I'm still happy for their interest and the opportunity to add a bright spot in their lives.

Last minute text tells me that Breeder lost his lease on farm and needs me to pick up the 2 roos I have on hold. I'll happily do it while in town... another 30 minute drive up and back to drop cage and up and back for pick up at farmers market. Can do!

Get everything home, boys set up... rooster drama...![]()
etc.... all my coops are FULL and then some... and I hear chirping...
I search and search. Our babies are accounted for. Well, DH found this little guy while he was doing my evening feed when I was in town and threw him/her in with the teenage roo and hen coop. OH MY!!! A miracle I heard it and/or it did not get pecked. So, I put little darling in a box with a heating pad and just about forget that she is there by morning. Good thing left her on kitchen counter.View attachment 2049105

Time change has me messed up too. Doesn't help to have chicks in the house and several roosters outside too![]()
