What did you do in the garden today?

Ok the seeding and sprouting shed is cleaned out and the peonies are in starter soil. I put some in pots and the rest I mass planted into a large flat. The larger pieces with obvious eyes I put into a long deck planter box. All are on heat mats and under the grow lights. The day lilies are all up about three inches. So good there. By the time it's time to put in the garden/flower seeds, I should know something on the peonies. If I save just two plants from this one, I'll be happy.

I can't believe I forgot to dig them before hitting them with the tractor.

BTW don't leave coir soaking in a 5 gallon bucket. It ROTS and turns to slurry and smells HORRIBLE.

Another giant batch of starter mix made.

I also made cute little signs to hang on the shed wall with all my recipes on it! I got sick of looking for tiny pieces of stained index card. LOL!:caf

It took me forever to figure out where DH stashed my worm poo. He put it behind my gnome. Funny man.

-was 89 yesterday, 86 today, and rain beginning. -harvested a ton of collard greens this past weekend, but the rest are flowering. -need to get them in. We have 2 kids who work in the S.F. Ca health industry w/ our 2 beautiful grand kids...
My DIL says they are fine but I can feel the stress in her words. She is worried... I don't blame her. I'm glad they are young and healthy but this is a stressful time.
Rachel Maddow did a graft on Italy's Covid19 outbreak. Very interesting, very sad and scary..
It is very much stressed here in CA. Even in my little town with no stoplights, no retail chains, one main road...we're just as scared as anyone. I heard folks talking at the store today about staying 6 ft away from each other. Most of us aren't even in close proximity and we're still talking about staying away from each other. I also heard that the "big box" stores down in the city have sold out of toilet paper, cleaning supplies, soups, etc. I have family in Italy and they're all in quarantine. The college I work at announced that classes will be held online until further notice. For some reason...I keep thinking of Charlton Heston and Soylent Green.

"Why, in my day, you could buy meat anywhere! Eggs they had, real butter! Fresh lettuce in the stores."

Although I have plenty of food stored up I know I'll be craving something fresh before too long and who knows what the grocery stores will have next month (and who has touched them???).

Amen to that! That's why I'd love to start more projects if it wasn't for this weather. Suppose to get snow next week too. Blech! Can't wait to see pics of fruits and veggies!!

So how is Mom progressing Karen ... By the way my second boy is Smudge now he does not fully trust me yet but getting there
If I had answered this Tuesday, I would have said not good at all! But today she seemed much better. More alert. Still can't stand on her own or take any steps, but she is more alert and doesn't seem as hopeless.
