What did you do in the garden today?

Good to hear tough all the years they where together good bad aside
Ma decided she did not want to be alone
Yep, I had thought that Mom had given up and decided she just didn't want to have to work so hard just to get back to a life with constant pain, but today she seemed like she was/is wanting to live. So, good for her. :)
The skilled nursing place she is in ( also has independent/assisted living and memory care as well as nursing home all on one campus) has as of today limited visitors to just family members over the age of 13. Have to fill out a "survey" about travel, who you've been around and your general health before you can get in. Plus us germ X as you walk through the doors!
My brothers and I won't be surprised if they go to full lock down soon.

I wanted to get my roots planted today ( well, actually yesterday but that didn't happen either) but it was rainy most of the day.
I start my 12's in the morning so I guess I won't get to them until Monday.

I ruined a whole pan of lasagna. :he:oops:
Did you know that it is possible to misread a recipe the same way twice in a row! I thought the meat sauce didn't look right and wondered if I was supposed to have added tomatoes. So I reread the recipe again. Nope, still missed where it said to add the tomatoes. :he
Mind you, this is one of my favorite recipes. I can't believe I don't have it memorized.
Anyway, I guess it wasn't a total waste. The chickens and the dog gobbled it up! :lau
I was going to take it to work for my lunches for the next 3 days. Let's hope I didn't mess up the pot roast I put in the crockpot at the same time!! :fl

I am exhausted. Sewed all afternoon. And now the trunk show I was to go to on Saturday....well we're going to get 1-5 inches of snow Friday night.

I am also exhausted from being the voice of reason and sanity. The University though just cancelled all classes for next week, but if they want/need to stay the dorms and food halls will still be open. Then there is 10 days of Spring break, where DS dorm is open, but there is no food. On March 30, classes start again, but all digital, but dorms will still be open and food is available.

DS has decided to stay this week, but come home Spring break. He'll decide on moving back in after break when the time comes. He and DH work in the same building, so all is good. DH still has to go to work to digitally teach unless something goes really crappy and they have to work from home. DS is a computer tech in the super computing center and helps people with their systems (but not tech support) and with a WHOLE lot of new professors going digital for the first time, I suspect he'll be very much needed.

I suspect his room mates will all go home this week and stay there. Leaving a suite apartment to just him. So he'll clean it and keep it clean.

The virus stays hanging in the air for 3 hours. So forget about a 6 foot radius. Imagine the person leaving a pigpen type cloud of virus hanging around for 3 hours even after they leave a spot. You probably walk through many a day.

No panic or hoarding or anything like that here. Mostly people mad at the media for hyping it to death, and when they run out of things to talk about, they bring in so called "experts" to spew doomsday numbers.

My poor niece in Ohio called me crying from the grocery store because the next 3 weeks of school is cancelled (she's a HS senior) and people in the grocery were acting nuts like the zombies were coming. She was terrified! Makes me so mad.

Anyway......saw a crocus today. Hens went out to play for an hour. 41 mph winds kept blowing them over, so I put them away. LOL. Such a sight when their little legs go in the air and their ruffly bloomers show. LOL.

Hello! Finally got outside today. I picked up some blueberries, currants, and jostaberries from a berry farmer and got 5 of 9 of them into the ground. Gonna try to get the other 4 in tomorrow but have a full schedule. Brooding ducklings is a bigger job than I thought, and I joined a 6 week fitness challenge because ???? I don’t know why 😂

so, lots of mulching and kickboxing. I’m gonna be she hulk by June!

compost bin is getting built. It will be a 12’x4’ base with 3 bins that are 4’x4’.
I love it! I'm a compost fan. Our old setup is 10'x3'x3'. The new setup I'm building since I decided to move the piles will be 12'x3'x3'. I'll be curious to see how your compost develops through the season. I have a pile ready to use and two piles that are cooking, one from the fall that is just coming back to life and a new one I'm still adding to.

A bad photo because I got home after 9pm today and it was dark out, but I thought you might enjoy a pic of some of our crocus that are in bloom in our front flower bed.

Holy Cow! This is awesome. I've seen some crop up in my neighbours' yard a week ago. Hard to believe that these lovies can endure the chilly temps. Love the inspiration!

This really rang true today as the weather was so poor that babies only stayed out from 3 - 5 PM PST. Birds (otherwise known as not chickens) rarely seen. May I say again that I am tired of this truffle...thank you kindly.
