What did you do in the garden today?

I didn't do much in the garden today except admire my wife's work. Her tomatoes are going to be harvestable soon, cantelope are looking like they are starting to flower, and as always she needs to put more dirt/hay on top of those potatoes. IMG_5401.JPG IMG_5402.JPG

We had a huge stroke of luck in that out deed restricted 1/3rd acre just had 20+ years of thicket(fallow land) cleared by the drainage district so I am building a living fence. Out of prickly pear, and other species of cacti:

Here is the cacti I am using for the outer perimeter:

Here is one grown from seed at 1 year of age:

And this morning I completed my outer ring of native Aloes in the silkie run(approx 4000ft'sq). Their blooming season is over for the year and they are set back 2.5 ft from the fencing because in 20 years they will look like this:

We have our basil, rosemary, and dill going gangbusters in our climate. Unfortunately God makes us do all the watering.
:lau last year I was lucky and barely had to water my garden at all. :D had so much rain but not too much. :D
