What did you do in the garden today?

So I'm late into the conversation...what's new? :frow Folks to the east and north...I empathize with you. Will the snow ever take an exit stage right?? Boo.

But as I was doing our evening rounds with Ms. Matty the Sultan...look what she found while digging for bugs?!?

There's about six-seven stalks growing in one section of our lower property. Will take more pics tomorrow. Previous owner (we've only been here since last May) must've planted them.

Ironically, these stalks are in a small partition where we've already installed a gate and have several T-posts up. Wow. I have a chicken who finds wyld vegetables. Its no wonder I take her to the grocery store too!!:love

Good morning gardeners. Another chilly morning here with 3 - 5 inches of snow forecasted for tomorrow morning. Good news, the HC I ordered from HD should be arriving today and my Lowes order should be close behind since they already tagged my cc. I found a local charity that will accept my backyard eggs. Yay! They put together boxes of food for seniors so they don't have to go into the grocery stores. Sunday appears to be a good day to put more plants into my little hoop bed. The forecast for next week appears to be a little warmer so perhaps I can get the potatoes started. I can cover them at night until the temperatures finally moderate. I should be able to sneak some cabbage and spring onions in there as well. Have a great day everyone.

Snow in April... :barnie
I'm hoping it melts today. We are supposed to get up to 42F. Saturday and Sunday will be in the 50s and no precipitation. I'm not sure the ground will be dry though. I need to keep movin dirt and get tilling. I want potatoes in the ground ASAP still... Not sure that's going to actually happen before May though.

Good morning gardeners. I'm watering today. I pulled up a bunch of the groundcover that had spread in front of the garden door and put it in the planter with the hibiscus. Then I put the grass frame over it so the chickens can't destroy it before it fully roots. The cilantro is a nice size now and there are tons of artichokes nearly ready to harvest. I have weeds to pull once the ground soaks up the water later in the dog yard. I also need to deadhead the lavender. We're expecting our first 90* day next week, ugh I'm not ready for that! I bought a couple of flower boxes yesterday to grow some grass for my bunny so I'm going to work on that later today as well. I moved the jalapenos to a sunnier spot, will probably transplant next week. The tree that I topped earlier this year is looking great, lots of new growth on it and a few of the aloes have pupped. I'll be pulling the pups so the bigger plants don't get super crowded, I like them big and the pups tend to prevent that. There are squash growing and more flowers on both plants. The oleanders are blooming like crazy and all 3 plants I transplanted out near the mesquite tree are looking good. The boys helped me move the firewood pile and we've moved several concrete blocks out back. We'll hopefully finish moving those on Sunday. Have a great day all!
