What did you do in the garden today?

Good morning gardeners. @Sueby and @Wee Farmer Sarah those are hubby's new toys, he does the laundry. Yesterday was crazy busy but it was a beautiful evening so I worked on the path in the xeriscape garden until dark. The chickens hung out and played in the puddles while I watered. I'm hoping to work on it more this evening when the area is in shade. I got all the broken bits out from behind the shed, today we'll trim some lattice that's now accessible and put another wall around the compost pile. Here's path progress, have a great day all!

The path is looking great! I love the mixed pavers.

Sarah, that stinks, but glad its feeling better. I live near American Distilling, the world's largest supplier of Witch Hazel, probably where yours is from as I don't think there are many places that make it. Useless fact for the day, lol.

I’m thinking 🤔 of making a run to Walgreens to pick up some more. After I did the morning rounds with the chickens and played trick the rooster to get him back in his bachelors pad, my shin is itching again. I think my neighbor is going to pull the stump out of the ground. AAgh! There are gas and water lines nearby. Maybe a quick ride will be soothing.

Some pics of early season garden:

Turnip and beet bed. Beets on lower half of pic. The two empty Turnip rows are where I had to replant viable seed.

Green Manure crop of Yellow Blossom Clover. We won't let it get very tall or flower. We are just growing this in the not-so-great large 20x30 garden bed to help boost the soil. We plan let it grow, then till it in and then plant some crops by mid-late June.

My SAD potatoes that got really frizzed by that 25F low temps. We covered them with soil, but that was not enough protection for such low temps. This is a week or so after that low temp.

More frizzed potatoes, but these look slightly better.

Curious chicken trying to see if she can get into the straw to lay her egg. See the large paver we have on top? Yes, bc we've found eggs there before!

What my deck looks like every day. Just a few more days and I can hopefully get my plants in the ground! In the little greenhouse are some melon seeds that have sprouted, and some extra starts I couldn't put into larger pots bc I ran out of pots.

Is he the type you can nicely tell to be aware of the gas/water line locations?

Hope your spider bite stops itiching soon.
I’m sure he has checked, but it just makes me a little nervous. I just got back from Walgreens and they were pretty much empty. I guess the weather is too nice to go shopping.

Thanks. It does feel better now. However, aside from allergy medicine I need to get more witch hazel. I've found if cider vinegar doesn't take the sting / itch away the witch hazel usually does.

Lidocaine is in a few over the counter products now may help more with the itching
